Cruisair Marine Air Conditioning

Cruisair was a pioneer of air conditioning
systems for pleasure boats in the 1960's and continues to
provide innovative new products to the marketplace. Cruisair
offers a range of products from the smaller self-contained units
to multi-ton tempered-water systems for larger vessels.
There are three main types of Cruisair
systems for boats, each best suited for different sizes and
types of boat.
|
Self-contained units are typically the
best choice for smaller boats, up to 40 feet (12m), All of the
major components are mounted on a single chassis, which is
installed under a bunk or settee, or in a locker. Both cooling
only and reverse-cycle heat pump models are available. |
 |
|
|
Central Systems, also known as split
systems, are usually found on boats up to 80ft (24m) in length.
A condensing unit is mounted in the engine room or other
mechanical space, and connected by copper tubes to an air
handler in the living area. All central systems are heat pumps
that cool as well as heat. |
 |
 |
Tempered Water Systems are the best
solution for larger boats that require redundancy, operational
flexibility, or advanced power management. A chiller, located in
the engine room, cools or heats fresh water which is circulated
through insulated pipes to air handlers in the cabins. Each
cabin can have independent temperature control, and there is no
limit to the number of air handlers in the system. |
